1. Who we are

DoTalk Technologies ("DoTalk", "we", "us") provides real-time AI translation and interpreted video calling at dotalk.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

2. Data we collect

• Account data — email address, name and authentication provider (email/password or Google) for registered hosts.
• Contacts you add — names, email addresses, phone numbers and preferred languages you save to your contact list.
• Call and invite data — invite links, room identifiers, chosen languages, scheduled times and delivery status of invites.
• Billing data — subscription and top-up records. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store them.
• Usage and analytics — page visited, referrer, device type, approximate country/city/region and timezone derived from edge network headers. We do not store IP addresses.

3. Speech, text and translation

To translate speech and text we send the relevant content to our AI translation providers for processing. Live call audio is translated in real time and is not recorded unless you explicitly start a recording. Recordings and transcripts you create are yours — you choose whether to download or email them.

4. Guests

Guests join through a one-time invite link and do not need an account. We process only the display name and language a guest supplies, plus the email address the host used to send the invite.

5. How we use your data

To operate and secure the service, deliver invites and reminders, meter usage and credits, process payments, provide support, and improve product quality. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your call content for advertising.

6. Service providers

We rely on trusted processors including our cloud database and authentication provider, Stripe for payments, our email delivery provider, and AI model providers for translation. Each processes data only on our instructions.

7. Retention

Account, contact and billing records are kept while your account is active and for as long as required for legal and accounting purposes. Invite links expire automatically. You can delete your contacts at any time, and you may request deletion of your account and associated data.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

9. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and access to stored data is restricted by row-level security rules so hosts can only reach their own records. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

10. Children

DoTalk is not intended for children under 16.
